Pink Hibiscus

Hibiscus flowers are pretty but lasts only a day unfortunately. That’s why I have to take a picture of this fleeting beauty as soon as I see them open in all its glory. I took this while walking home from the garden. You’ll be surprised as to what you can find just by strolling around the neighborhood.
Did you know that Hibiscus is the National Flower of Okinawa and the Philippines? Hibiscus is called “Gumamela” in the Philippines. The most common color of Hibiscus is red but here in Hawaii, I have seen all kinds of colors like pink, salmon and yellow. There are also some species of hibiscus that have double petals and they also comes in a wide range of colors, rainbow colors really.
Also did you know that there is a variety of Hibiscus that you can use as tea?
