Macaw Bird

Blue and Gold Macaw – (Ara Ararauna)

It’s really fun to go to the open market not only because of the produce that is cheaper than supermarkets but you can also see exotic fruits and vegetables that are rarely available. And then you will see and meet interesting people and this time I met someone with a pet Macaw. She was nice enough to oblige us to take pictures of this wonderful bird. It is colorful and very tamed.

According to my research, you can only feed them certain foods like oranges, apples, peanuts, walnuts and sunflowers seeds. The rest may contain toxins that could be harmful.

Macaws are also very social and make good companions pets. I would like to have one except I prefer to see them in the wild where they can fly freely.

The American Flag is flying half mast today because today is the day of Remembrance of what happened 10 years ago in New York. It seems only yesterday. I was watching it on TV when it happened and I thought it was just a movie where we are being attacked by Aliens or Terrorists. And…
