Mangroves

Mangroves are very important in our ecosystem. Their roots are habitats of almost all species of fish and crustaceans.
Oysters, barnacles and algae all make mangroves their home. Shrimps and lobsters also stay in the muddy bottoms of the mangrove forests.
Mangroves have adapted to their harsh environment like low oxygen, salt intake and water loss. Their seeds that fall the brackish water can stay afloat until they can find a suitable environment to grow.
Mangroves are also important in shielding us from tsunami or big waves and also the roots prevents erosion.
People around the world especially those that have mangroves in their country should learn about the importance of mangroves and how to preserve them.
