Long Beans

After about 40 days since I planted these long beans (sitaw) and I could harvest already. It’s really fun. The thing is it’s being attack by some bugs, I don’t know what kind, so I prepared a soap and water solution and put in a spray bottle and sprayed directly into the bugs. Then I quickly sprayed with fresh water to rinse the soap. I hope it works. I also put some fertilizer to make the vines healthy to fight diseases that might attack them.
I like to use long beans in almost all my favorite recipes like “kare-kare”, “sinigang”, “pinakbet” or “bulanglang” or just plain “guisadong sitaw” with pork or shrimp. To me, long beans is an everyday food.
