A Bee in a Flower

Once in a while I go around the garden looking for something to capture with my camera. I happened to stumble on this bee that keeps hovering around the winter-melon vine. It goes from flower to flower sucking the nectar from each flower and pollinating each one in the process. The bee probably don’t even know what’s happening after consuming the nectar. It always intrigues me how things work and this is one of them. I am glad most gardeners now are avoiding the use of pesticides otherwise I probably won’t see any bees in the garden. I used to see green geckos but they’re gone now replaced by brown ones and beautiful butterflies but they are slowly diminishing in numbers. But I saw a nice butterfly the other day except I did not have my camera with me. It has a black and white coloration which is uncommon. I always see something with yellow and black color which is considered the Hawaiian Monarch Butterfly. These butterflies are fun to watch especially when they land on flowers as if playing with them. I’m glad to be a spectator of Nature at work.
By the way, the bee created a nice, big winter-melon that was made into a delicious soup!
