Society Garlic

Society Garlic is not an edible herb but it is good to have in the garden. It is very ornamental and attracts pollinators. I like to have them in my garden just to enjoy the purple flowers it produces every spring to late summer. It is easy to grow, especially in a xeriscape garden. It loves full sun and insects or pests don’t bother them. I guess the garlicky smell of the grasslike leaves is a real turn off for the pests which is good I think. Do you know that society garlic which originated from Africa came from the family of Amaryllis?
