Oregano

Oregano is an herb that is mostly used in Italian cooking like pizza and pasta. I grow up using dried oregano for meat dishes along with other spices like bay leaf and safflower. I have never seen fresh oregano then. When I started gardening, I tried to look for all culinary herbs I can find. I love to cook so it feels right for me to have the herbs I needed when I need it. This particular oregano is called Greek oregano. There are other kinds but this one is my favorite. It is easy to grow. Using a clay pot helps the soil to dry out between waterings. It needs to have a good drainage so adding a little bit sand in the soil is a good thing.
