Turmeric/Yellow Ginger

I have just harvested these turmeric rhizomes when I took this picture. I just love to have this valuable spice/herb in my garden. Not only the rhizomes are very healthy for you, the plant leaves are beautiful addition to a tropical garden and the flowers or inflorescence are also amazing.
I don’t really know the value of this spice/herb except as a coloring agent for foods and also as dye for fabrics. Then I learned that it is used as one of the spices in making curry powder. I just like to make tea out of it just like the Okinawan. Little did I know that it would become one of the most important part of my life. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer about a year ago and after surgery I had to go chemotherapy. While I was doing the treatment, my family are also giving me all sorts of vitamins and antioxidants as a daily regimen and one of them is turmeric in tablet form. Thanks be to God, I am feeling much better.
I just feel good about the turmeric I have to make it known to all that it does wonders for your health and well-being.
