Durian

Durian is a fruit native to Malaysia and Indonesia and is famous for its distinct odor. Some can’t stand the smell they would not even try to eat it but for those who don’t mind the strong odor is in for a great treat because it tastes really good like eating a custard with almond flavor.
I’ve tried it with my mom when we went to Laguna, Philippines and I tried not to focus on the smell but just the taste. That was my first time to try this very intriguing fruit.
Some people believe “durian” is an aphrodisiac that’s why they eat it even if the smell is almost foul.
In Southern Philippines they have all kinds of recipes using durian, like pies, candies and all types of desserts.
